Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY KOOP Henry Koop, 89, passed away suddenly at his home on July 11, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife Agnes, children Ruth (Tim) Klippenstein, David (Dolores), Wilmer (Elenore), Art (Christine), nine grandchildren, brothers Dan (Ann) and George and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Helen, brothers John, Peter and Jake, first wife Helen and granddaughter Ria. Henry was born in the Ukraine on August 15, 1918, the seventh child of Peter and Anna (Martens) Koop. After Peter was murdered by anarchists, times were difficult, and the family immigrated to Manitoba in 1928. Henry was baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church near Sperling. In 1946 the family moved to Winnipeg, and in 1948, Henry married Helen Peters. After almost 30 years, she died of cancer. In 1979, he married Agnes Huebert. Henry worked at Canada Post for 24 years, after which he and Agnes ran a florist shop. He was an avid golfer, a political activist, a staunch supporter of his family and a strong believer in God. Service will be held Friday, July 18, 2008, at 10:30 at McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor, with viewing prior to the service. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made to Mennonite Brethren Missions and Service International.
