MARY BIEGANSKI (nee LODON) The family of Mary Bieganski sadly announces her passing on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the Kildonan Personal Care Home in her 88th year. Mary was born in St. Andrews, Manitoba on October 5, 1919, the second youngest daughter of William and Agnes Lodon. She had two brothers, Mike and Bernie and three sisters, Tillie, Anne and Jean. Mary attended school in Rossdale, Manitoba. Later she returned to Winnipeg and was employed there until she met and married Leo Bieganski. Mary and Leo farmed in the Anola District until 1946 when they built a house and mechanical garage in the village of Anola. They operated their garage until 1952 when they sold their business in Anola and moved to Rossendale, Manitoba where they started Bieganski Construction. Mary enjoyed curling, watching local baseball games as well as playing bingo and cards. She always remained very community minded and involved. Mary will be remembered for always lending a helping hand and for her love of gardening and baking and especially cooking for family and friends. Her home was always open and she was glad to welcome friends and family alike. Although never having children of their own Mary and Leo were well loved by their many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents; her husband Leo; her brothers and her sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing her numerous nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Cemetery, 1 Green Acres Lane at Hwy #1 just inside the Perimeter at Winnipeg.
