Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY CHOY Dorothy Choy (nee Chow) passed away peacefully at Burnaby General Hospital on July 11, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas, in 1996, Dorothy will be remembered by her son Philip of Winnipeg; son Wesley of Vancouver; son Daniel (Angela) and grandchildren Emily and Jonathan of Calgary; sister Grace of Burnaby; brother Lewis (May) of Whitby; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many other relatives and dear friends. Born January 24, 1918, Dorothy grew up in Vancouver, mainland China, and Coleman, AB, before training as a nurse with the Salvation Army. In 1952, she and Thomas married and settled in Winnipeg, where she worked at the Health Sciences Centre for many years. She was a community volunteer throughout her lifetime, notably with the Manitoba Chinese Historical Society. A private family service will be held in Burnaby at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Chinese United Church, 281 Pacific Ave., Winnipeg MB R3B 0M7, or to a charity of one's choice.
