Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN GORDON (JACK) CUMMINGS May 13, 1926 July 15, 2008 Peacefully, on Tuesday evening, July 15, Jack passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Jack was predeceased by his wife Jean in October of 2000. He is survived by his children, Marilyn (Frank Biffi) of Edmonton, Diane (Randy Baert) and Bob (Bonny) of Calgary. Granddaughters, Jaclyn (Rob Stuve) of Vernon, Jenessa (Rob Shedden) and his precious great-granddaughter, Taelyn Jean Stuve of Vernon, BC. Jack is also survived by his siblings, Bob (Pat) of Port Alberni, Marjorie Goshawk, Patricia Kirk of Vancouver, Edward of Sudbury, and Ron (Fay) of Saskatoon. Dad was born on May 13, 1926 at the St. Boniface Hospital, grew up in Norwood and married Jean Burnett on September 13, 1952. He started his career at Canada Packers in 1943 and retired from his position of Edible Oils Dairy Division Manager in l987. Dad curled for many years at the St. Vital Curling Club and enjoyed a golf membership for 40 years at the Niakwa Golf Country Club. For many years Dad enjoyed the family cottage at Grand Marais, and winter vacations in Hawaii with family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Philips Anglican Church, 240 Tache Avenue with the Rev. Linda G. Parsons presiding. Wheel chair accessibility from the lane. The family would like to thank his friends at Dakota House, especially Mary Fontaine and the wonderful nurses and staff from Home and Palliative Care for their care and support. I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Your father was a great boss and good friend. It was a great honour to have worked with him and to know him and your mother. I still remember when he was walking on Charing Cross in front of my house in 1977 and I came out of the house to tell him that the neighbourhood would never be the same. He will be greatly missed.
