THOMAS ALLAN BUCKNELL Thomas Allan Bucknell passed away January 15, 2008 in Redwater, AB. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Brookside Cemetery. Please meet the family at the front office at 1:15 p.m. A short service will be held at the graveside at 1:30 p.m. Thomas was born in Winnipeg on June 19, 1939 to Walter and Grace Bucknell. He was one of 16 children. He leaves to mourn his passing his companion Arlene Wright of 18 years, sons Douglas (Carol) of Rosser and Donald (Elaine) Bucknell of Winnipeg, daughters Frances (George) Laing of Florida and Sandra Lord (Mark Colwell) of Edmonton. Stepchildren William Sherry Korolyk. His 12 grandchildren: Ryan, Jonathon and Sarah Youd, Thomas Bucknell, Brad Laing, Michael and James Lord, Raylene and Justin (JR) Bucknell, Sherry and Scott McDonald, great-granddaughters Teegan and Heidi Bucknell. His sisters Margaret Vandenberg, Shirley Bucknell, Evelyn Lavalle and Linda Skowronek, brothers Ronald and Douglas Bucknell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was preceded by his father Walter, mother Grace, brothers Donald, Jack, Walter, Harold, Lenard, Robert, Arthur, sisters Violet Bucknell and Hazel Cook, stepson Robert Korolyk and grandson Justin Laing. Thomas worked for The City of Winnipeg, Public Works Department for a number of years. After a car accident he tried his hand at sub contracting for Abalon Construction. He travelled to Regina, SK and then to Edmonton, AB. He worked for the company for 25 years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to go fishing and camping when he could. Bingo was another one of his passions. His greatest love was his children and his two little dogs Gigit and Buddy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas's name may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are entrusted to his children 204-461-1845.
