CHRISTINE (PEARS) BERG 1908 - 2008 Our Nana passed away peacefully on July 13, 2008. Born in Winnipeg, she married Horace Pears in 1926, and had a daughter, Jean, the following year. Nana was a very talented lady, loved sewing, stitching and had her own millenary store. Tiny also worked 18 years with the provincial government, and 10 years with Shirley K. Maternity at Polo Park. Nana enjoyed many trips and hobbies but decided at 78, after being widowed for 40 years, to remarry. She and Roy Berg had three years together until his passing in 1989. Roy called Nana his little ray of sunshine, as she was always there with a laugh and a smile. Nana had a deep devotion to the Catholic Church and was a member of St. John Brebeuf and St. Ignatius parishes. She was a most kind and generous grandmother and will be greatly missed by grandsons, John and James Fairbairn, granddaughter, Joan Cleghorn and Blaine and by her guardian angel, Juanita Fairbairn. Daughter Jean passed away in 1982, son-in-law Alan in 2005. Thank you to the staff at the Charleswood Care Centre. Mass will be held at St. Ignatius on Monday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. with a burial to follow at Assumption Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to St. Ignatius Church are appreciated.
