MARIA BONNE December 16, 1905 July 15, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria, at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the age of 102 years. Maria married Emerick Bonne on December 18, 1923 and together they lived in St. James, then moved to Fort Garry, living the rest of her life there. She belonged to the Fort Garry Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir. She did a lot of knitting and crocheting, which was beautiful work that she gave to a lot of people, especially the nursing home. She resided at the Rotary Villa until going to the Golden Door, where she lived for nine years until her death. Maria is survived by her daughters Marguerite, Irene, Jenny (Bruce), and son Bob (Alice) and two daughters-in-law, Irene and Judy. She was predeceased by her daughter Elsie and two sons Eddie and Oscar. Maria had 27 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 36 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway, with viewing at 12:00 noon. Father Patrick Morand officiating.
