NELLIE BEZDIETNY (nee LITWIN) July 12, 1921 July 15, 2008 Peacefully, on July 15, 2008, surrounded by family our beloved mom passed away at the Gimli Community Health Centre. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bernard; parents Michael and Katherine; son-in-law Stanley Bogucki; brother John; sister Gertie; and step-sister Emily. Nellie will be lovingly remembered and missed very much by her children Jeanette (Gerry) Anderson; Dolores (Mike) Olyarnick; Richard (Ann) Bezdietny. Her grandchildren David and Lori; Dale and Leanne; Keith, Darrell and Gloria; eight great-grandchildren and three step grandchildren, Darren, Lori and Patti. Her sisters Susan (Mike), Vanda (Eddie), Matilda; brothers Stan (Martha) and Ted (Marie). Mom was born in Winnipeg and moved to Gimli with her parents when she was a young child. As a young girl she worked in Riverton, married dad in 1939 and lovingly raised her children on their farm near Gimli. After her children were grown up, mom went to work for B.C. packers in Gimli. After the packing plant closed, she worked at Lakeside Inn for a short period and then she worked for many years at the Johnson Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Mom was a very devoted mother and grandmother. Mom had a deep love for her family, a special place in her heart for her children. Mom had a love of the beauty of flowers. She would spend many hours working in her flowers and garden. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Home Care staff, Dr. Chapnick and the staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre for their compassionate care. Prayers will be said Sunday evening, July 20th at 7:30 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michael's Catholic Church, Gimli, MB, with Father Wayne Morrissey officiating. Interment will follow at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her four grandsons, Keith Bezdietny, Darrell Bezdietny, Dr. David Bogucki, Dale Olyarnick and her two grandsons-in-law Mike Mager and Ed Owen. Honorary pallbearers Mike Olyarnick and Gerry Anderson. Donations in mom's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Room ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
