MYRA DONNA ROSNER (nee VINEBERG) On Sunday, July 13, 2008, after a lengthy illness, Myra, aged 84, passed away peacefully at the Sharon Home, Kanee Centre. She was predeceased by her parents Gertie and Abe Vineberg, her brother, Elliott, her sister-in-law Joan, her husband Bernie, and her son, Michael. She is survived by her loving daughter Joan, her son-in-law, Grant, and her only grandson, Stephen. Myra was born on December 24, 1923. She lived in Winnipeg where she attended Kelvin High School and then went on to the University of Manitoba and secured her B.A. She was married to Bernie for 53 years and they raised their children. She lived a short while in Timmins after Bernie graduated from optometry. She was an excellent cook and baker and Friday night dinners were always special because her parents came for supper. She was a devoted Mother to her children and grandson. She loved entertaining and playing bridge. She was an avid golfer and she and Bernie had a membership at Glendale Country Club for years. The family had a cottage at Falcon Lake for over 40 years where they spent every summer. Life was not easy for her, though, Michael was born with amyotonia congenitia and was never able to walk, so he required extra care, which she unselfishly gave. She adored her grandson and took him to children's plays and such when he was young. In the last few years, after Bernie passed away in 2001, she lived in a condo in Tuxedo where she met her dear friend, Mel Leonoff. She once again, had someone to cook for and someone to sit and watch T.V. with. He was a very special friend to her and tried to watch out for her if she needed help. Unfortunately, Myra's health started to fail and after breaking a hip, the family hired a housekeeper, Velma. She was wonderful and kept the condo running for five years. In 2007, the inevitable happened, she was moved out of her condo to The Sharon Home. This was a difficult time for her and adjustment was hard. Velma felt she had to move on, and she was lucky to find Lolita. She was so kind and caring, it made life bearable for her. In the last days, the family visited her daily. She was so happy to see Stephen and know that he really cared about how she was. Visitors were few, but her cousins Rita and Naomi visited regularly and she seemed to like this. The Family wishes to thank Velma and Lolita, both of who made her last years comfortable. A graveside service and interment took place at 1:00 p.m. on July 15, 2008, with Rabbi Pinsker officiating. Pallbearers were David Rosner, Gerald Rosner, Peter Mendelson, and Dr. Steven Tritt. Two members of the synagogue did a mitzvah and filled in with the other pallbearers. The family wishes to thank them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Always remembered and sadly missed by your family and friends. May your Soul be Bound Up In that of Eternal Life.

You promised you would not go in March but then you went the day before my Birthday when I was 54 going on 55. Now, I am 58 going on 59 and I am alone except for Stephen. You would be proud of him, his dancing and acting. I miss you, Mom and hope that we will connect again. Love, Joanie - Posted by: Joan Rosner Hargrave (Daughter) on: Jul 13, 2012
