JURI TONOPA Suddenly and sadly on Wednesday, July 16 Juri Tonopa passed away in his home. Juri is predeceased by his wife Ann and parents, Ellie, Mary and Matu. Left to mourn are August Makstin, his children and fiancée, Curtis, Kristal, Inga, Mike, Laura, and Irene. Juri was born in Toronto, Ontario. He grew up in the city and at the family cottage on the near by lake. After high school graduation he headed straight for Regina to become an R.C.M.P officer. Juri met and married Ann and had three children. From town to town he and his family moved making treasured friends along the way. Juri served 22 years in the RCMP before retiring from the force in Virden. After the passing of his wife he moved to Petersfield, MB, four years ago where he has been operating a small handyman service. In this time is when he met his fiancée Irene. Juri loved to hunt, fish and go auctioning. He had many interests and a lifetime's worth of strange experiences. Juri loved his children and could tell you what they did yesterday, even though they were all miles away. Juri's final wishes are to be cremated with no formal funeral service.
