KAREN A. GAUTRON (nee SARRASIN) November 1, 1950 July 18, 2008 After a valiant and courageous battle with cancer it is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear and precious wife, mother and Nana, Karen, on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Karen was predeceased by her father Wilfrid Sarrasin. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Gerald; sons, Kevin (Shian) and Leo (Dawn); grandchildren, Jessica, Kirstin, Kjirstiana (KJ) and Joshua. Also left to mourn this huge loss is her mother Helen Sarrasin; brothers, Eugene, Ron (Brenda) and David (Susie). Missing her deeply is Gerald's family, Chuck (Rachel), Madeline (Guy), Mitch (Dave), Norm (Aline) plus numerous special nephews and nieces. At the time of her passing Karen had been employed at St. Boniface Hospital for 35 years. Karen was a quiet, unassuming, supportive, patient and caring person. She loved plants, gardening, camping, animals and most importantly her family and friends. Special thanks to all the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at SBGH for taking excellent care of Karen and also thanks to family and friends who made Karen's life special. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Notre Dame de La Misericorde Catholic Church in Ile des Chenes, MB with Father Kevin Bettens officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
