ROSE MYRA HUBBARD Rose Hubbard, the beloved wife of the late Thomas Hubbard, passed away after a lengthy illness in the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1982; son Jack in 2008 and sisters, Elsie Elliott and Dorothy Sawatzky. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Hubbard of Winnipeg and Shirley Dyck (Norman) of St. Albert, AB; daughter-in-law Hazel Hubbard of Winnipeg; four grandchildren, Peter Dyck of St. Albert , AB, Sean Hubbard and his wife Karen of Barrie, ON, Karen Stephenson and her husband Alan of Sherwood Park, AB and Kristine Thorlakson and her husband Ian of Winnipeg; seven great-grandchildren Bennett, Elsbeth, Signey, Thomas, Sarah, Adam and Owen; nephew Robert and niece Sharon. Rose was born on January 16, 1918 in Stonewall, MB where she grew up and met and married Tom. They moved to Winnipeg in 1952. For many years Rose worked in the hotel and restaurant business but retired in 1975 from the National School Services. Rose was a loving wife and mother who loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, baking and sewing and made many quilts for her family over the years. Rose spent the final 8 years of her life battling heart disease and was well cared for by her daughter Margaret. Her family will remember her often and miss her deeply. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street. Interment will be in Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall, MB at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
