Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLYDIA JACKSTEIT September 4, 1921 - July 18, 2008 On July 18, 2008, Lydia went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Lydia enjoyed a rich and blessed life with her husband Hans of 66 years. Their early years were spent in farming and raising three children. Mother was gifted with great home-making skills and the gift of hospitality. Her life was devoted to caring for her family and spending time with Dad travelling and working side by side with him in whatever adventure they embraced. She was an exemplary role model as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her husband Hans; children Trudy (Eric), Al (Pat), Tammy (Michael); grandchildren, Kevin, Dean (Erika), Mark (Andrea), Carla, Robert (Karen), Rebecca (Tom), Catherine, Aubray, Jordan, Marissa and Jared; great-grandchildren, Anna-Maria, Katarina, Eliza, Ella, Anya, Jonah, Tobias and Eden. She was predeceased by her parents, Antoni and Emilie Bakun, her great-grandson Justin Magnusson, and her eldest sister Adina. Rest in peace mother, and thank you for all the precious memories. Our thanks for the compassionate care of the Victor Hospital staff. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Gideons, the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with viewing one half hour prior and an interment with reception to follow.
