GRACE REYES Surrounded by her family, Grace M. Reyes (53), of Winnipeg, MB, passed away July 21, 2008 at St. Boniface General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Grace was predeceased by her father, Antonio S. Marquez Sr. and her father-in-law, Ernesto Reyes. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years, Reynaldo Rey '; her four children, Melissa (Lester), Janice, Joseph and Jo-ann (Derick); her grandchildren, Amanda and Audrey; her mother, Nonita; mother-in-law, Ignacia; her siblings, Alex (Cynthia), Charito (Jun), Andrew (Cathy) and Antonio Jr; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Cristia (Rene), Sammy (Annie) and Jo Al; cousins, Sandy, Connie, Doug, Marissa; friends, Oyette and Willie, Olive, Esther and Dan Lucero; her beloved dog, Pepper; friends and co-workers from Cangene Corp, Standard-Aero Team and UST AA of Manitoba and many more friends and relatives. Grace was born and raised in the Philippines. She graduated from the College of Commerce in UST with a major in Management. It was in the Philippines where she met and married her husband Reynaldo. They raised four children, and the whole family later moved to Canada. She worked in BPI for 19 years, Standard Aero for nine years and Cangene Corporation for three years. While working, she continued her studies and finished her designation Certificate in Institute of Management in 2004. She was also an officer and past president of the UST Alumni Association of Manitoba. Grace enjoyed travelling, which included visiting her grandchildren in California and her mother and brother in Hawaii. She also frequently visited her cousins in the United States, as well as other relatives in Canada and in the Philippines. She always took pleasure in keeping in touch with family and friends. She had many interests and enjoyed watching concerts. She was a devout Roman Catholic and raised her children under Catholic traditions. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during her long illness, including Dr. Gingerich, Dr. Tavis and nurses, aids and other staff in St. Boniface Hospital E5 Medicine, Sister Alice and other spiritual care volunteers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Lamay will be held Friday, July 25, 2008 at from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
