Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) DAVIES Surrounded by her loving family, Kay Davies peacefully passed away on July 21, 2008 at the Red River Valley Lodge. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Elaine (Glenn) Hancox; sons Bob (Jean) Davies and Jim (Bonny) Davies; daughter-in-law Dolly Davies; son-in-law Alan Covernton; grandchildren Michael (Tina), Jimmy John (Nan), Audra, Bruce, Kathy (Gilbert), Kelly (Curt), Karmen, Tracey (Mike), Colin, and Katherine; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, brother Jack Browne, daughter Lorraine Covernton, son Fred Davies, and grandson Geoff Covernton. Kay was born on April 17, 1915 to George and Winnifred Browne in Winnipeg. She lived on the Browne farm near Morris until her marriage to Jack Davies in 1938. Kay had a full, busy life. Her happiest times were when she was doing something for someone else. She loved children and babysat for many, and became affectionately known as Auntie Kay . Kay and her husband Jack, and her brother Jack had an orchestra called The KayJacks . They played for dances at country schools and the Morris Legion Hall. Among her many talents was her cake decorating. She was a devoted member of the United Church, and an active volunteer in the community of Morris. Thank you to all the staff at the Red River Valley Lodge for their wonderful care during the past ten and a half years she was a resident. The funeral service will be held at the Morris United Church on Friday, July 25 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations in Kay's memory may be made to the Morris United Church Memorial Fund.
