ARTHUR PIERRE JOSEPH PELLAND August 20, 1943 - June 24, 2008 Suddenly on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the age of 64, Arthur Pelland passed away at the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, BC. Arthur was born on August 20, 1943 in Winnipeg. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Lucie, son Eugene (Lynn) with their daughter Jade, and son Arthur, his four brothers and four sisters, many brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. For 30 years Art was employed as a truck driver for Burns meats. He retired to enjoy some wonderful years on his land near Riding Mountain National Park, where he loved to look down into the Valley. He then moved to Oliver, BC where he loved the weather and the fact that there were no bugs. He enjoyed having his family and friends come and visit so he could show them around the valley, and take them to all the wineries for tastings. He also became a driving force behind the volunteer crime watch in Oliver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing canasta with family and friends, and recently loved to ride around with Babette on his scooter where everyone in the neighbourhood knew them by name. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, we will miss your smile, your laugh, and your booming voice. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all. God has you in His keeping, and we have him in our Hearts. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Rd. Lunch will be served in the basement of the church to follow mass. Burial of the urn will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of British Columbia and Yukon, #4 -1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9 would be gratefully appreciated.
