ETHEL GILBERT JOLLEY Peacefully on July 22, 2008, in her 88th year, Ethel was reunited with her husband Earl. She is lovingly remembered by their three children; daughters, Ann and husband Ron Irwin of Winnipeg, Joan and husband Ashton Embry of Calgary, and John and wife Donna Jolley of Lacrosse Wisconsin. A grandmother to Matt, Dean, and Duncan Embry, and Kyle, Katie, and Spencer Jolley. One of four children, she is survived by her sister Betty and husband Chuck Barhydt of Georgetown Ontario, along with many nieces and nephews. Born in St. Thomas Ontario, Ethel's roots were in the east but when transfer brought the family to Winnipeg in the 60's she embraced the best of this city, especially enjoying all of the performing arts. We wish to acknowledge all who cared for our Mom over the last several years. The devotion of companion Claudette Therrien brought her joy with every visit. We will always be grateful for the peace of mind she brought us when we, her children, were not nearby. Truly Mom's guardian angel. We extend, as well, a heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Meadowood Manor one and all. Consummate professionals and care givers in every way. Dedicated to providing the best care possible, always with sensitivity and respect. At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held July 28, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway.
