MARGARET ISABELLA GOURLEY (nee RIGGS) Of Vancouver, formerly of Winnipeg, peacefully on July 21, 2008, aged 98 years. Predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Arthur. Survived by her loving family, son Robert (Rachel), daughter Catherine (Ron) Pears, grandchildren Benjamin, Jonathan, Mia and Georgia, great-grandchildren Aiden and Lily, sister-in-law Beth Gourley of Winnipeg, nephew Monty Wood and family, niece Alexa Wood Pratt and family. Margaret was born and educated in Vancouver and with her sister, Eleanor, spent her summers at their beloved cottage at Buccaneer Bay. Margaret obtained her MSc. in biochemistry at the University of British Columbia. After she married Arthur they moved to Winnipeg where she raised her family and became actively involved as a hospital volunteer and in various sports, especially curling at the Winnipeg Winter Club and golf at the St. Charles Country Club. Margaret returned to her home town of Vancouver in 2002 to be with her family. Private family service will be held. The family will have a party to celebrate her life in both Winnipeg and Vancouver in early September. Thank you to the staff of the Birch unit at St. Vincent's, Langara for all the care and attention and a particular thanks to mom's loyal caregivers Benita and Feley.
