Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNETTIE GOLLETZ Nettie Golletz, nee Wolochatiuk, aged 90, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Nettie was born on July 2, 1918 at Ethelbert, MB. She was the eldest daughter of John and Mary Wolochatiuk (Bodnar). She received her education in the village of Ethelbert and also at the rural Kerr School. After completing grade seven, she, regrettably, had to quit school to work on the family farm because of her mother's illness. She lived in Ethelbert until 1939 when she moved to southern Ontario to seek employment. During her working career in Ontario, she was a supervisor at a munitions factory, worked in the silk mills and as head cashier at Woolworths. In 1942, she married Eugene Golletz at Kitchener, ON. In 1949, they moved to Grandview, MB where they purchased the Grandview Machine Shop. Mom travelled extensively throughout Canada, United States and Europe. She was very interested in her family, friends, church, community, world affairs and continuous learning. Nettie was an active member of the St. Elias Ukrainian Catholic Church in Grandview. She was secretary of the Women's League for 28 years. She was a stay at home mom for many years. When she returned to the work force, she worked at Kruhmin's and the Grandview Personal Care Homes. While residing in Dauphin, Nettie was active in the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. She was on the Membership committee for 16 years and later, served on the League phoning committee. She was a member of the Apostleship of Prayer. As a member of the St. Paul's Nursing Home Auxiliary, she assisted with residents' activities. She was also a member of the Dauphin Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered in the Hospital Gift Shop. For many years, she volunteered for the Knights of Columbus at the Dauphin Fair and for Canada's National Ukrainian Festival. Nettie's hobbies included gardening, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, sewing and craft making. Nettie is survived by four daughters, Vivian Robertson (Dick) of Winnipeg, Doreen Swift (Rick) of Winnipeg, Jeannette Golletz of Winnipeg, Angie Korzinski of Fort Francis, ON; five grandchildren, Karmel and Reid Jaremy, Kris Vincent (Melanie), Jennilee and Samantha Korzinski; one great-grandson Ethan Vincent; one sister Ann Rehaluk (Peter) of Ethelbert. She was predeceased by Eugene, her loving husband of 55 years in 1998; her parents; brother Nick; sisters Arlene Kozak and Edith Romanyshyn; and son-in-law Ted Jaremy. Prayers will be offered from the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Dauphin on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., with the funeral service to be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.
