SANDRA LYNN IBEY (nee FUTZ) It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Sandee in Winnipeg on July 23, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandee is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Len, daughter Shannon Schmidt (Rob), grandsons Ayden and Ashton, mother Rose Futz, father William and very special stepmom Stella Futz, all of Winnipeg, sister Brenda Futz of Toronto, brother Curtis of Winnipeg, brothers-in-law Don Ibey (Darlene) of British Columbia, Rob Ibey (Lee) of Ontario, sisters-in-law Cindy Zappitelli (Ron) of Ontario and Gina Newman (Lorne) of Manitoba. Numerous uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews and cousins also survive. Sandee was born in Winnipeg on May 27, 1952. Her kind and loving nature led her to a career in nursing in The Pas and Winnipeg. After meeting Len, she moved to Ignace, Ontario where she was employed with the Township of Ignace until her illness forced her to retire. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of the Riverview Health Centre, the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital and the Mary Berglund Community Health Centre. A funeral service will be held in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, on Monday, July 28, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tamarack House, Thunder Bay, Ontario.
