DOLORES GABRIELLE PETERSON (CHALE)
Date of Passing: Jul 19, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOLORES GABRIELLE PETERSON (CHALE) With her family at her side and a smile on her face, Dolores went to meet her beloved Bill on July 19, 2008. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karin (Steve), Kit (April) and Kristina (Dave); grandchildren, Jessica (Rob), Jean Luc, Jordan (Amber), Joshua and Kaitlin. She was GG-Ma (Great-Grandma) to Liam, Aidan and Meara Gabrielle. Dolores (May 8, 1921) was the youngest of 15 children of Fortunate and AimiƩ Chale and the only one born in Manitoba. She came to Winnipeg at the age of 15 and quickly switched from speaking French to English. She worked at several jobs including Lever Bros. and McDonald Air Craft. She was a beautiful young woman and had a marvelous voice. Among her possessions were letters of gratitude for all the special occasions she was asked to sing at. She met and married Bill and their relationship lasted for almost 50 years. After he passed away, Mum didn't stop pining for him. Dolores was a devout Catholic. She was a great cook and baker and was always happiest in the kitchen. She was also a wonderful volunteer. She had worked at the Fred Douglas Lodge into her 70's after which she volunteered there and at the Maples Personal Care Home where she was a resident at the time of her death. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider her favourite charities, Heart and Stroke, CancerCare and any charity that helps children. You are already missed. Luv you, Mummy.

My dearest Dolores, I too miss you and always shall. How could it be otherwise? You were in countless ways ways a Mother to me and I had reason to treasure that choice gift far beyond what simple words can convey. As with the 2006 passing of my own dear husband, Roy, I mourn your loss, but celebrate with admiration and gratitude your life, a lifetime of giving so much to all who had the unparalled good fortune to encounter you. My deepest sympathy to all members of your family. Until we meet again, Your loving neice, Diane Ingram. - Posted by: Diane Ingram (Family) on: Jul 26, 2008
