JOSEPHUS (GEORGE) ROOSWINKEL 1943 - 2008 On July 25, 2008 at the age of 65 our beloved husband, father and grandfather Josephus (George) Rooswinkel peacefully passed away after a lengthy, heroic battle with cancer. George will be sadly missed by his wife Betty; his children, Diana Cameron (Allan), Joey Rooswinkel (Ginette), Michelle Rooswinkel, Susanna Rooswinkel (Wayne) and his beloved grandchildren Diana, Tia, Nichole, Nicholas, Dustin, Bailey and Wesley. Also mourning is his sister Thea Clinke (Frank). George's love, patience and generosity to his family were limitless yet he still gave numerous hours of work to his cherished community of Grand Marais helping both youth and seniors alike. He was strong member of the St. Therese Church and an inspiration to many. During his life George was an accomplished baker, mechanic and projectionist, finally retiring as Director of the Manitoba Film Classification Board. A very special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and all the staff of Grace Cancer Care for their many years of caring (though sometimes mischievous) treatment. Thank you also to all the wonderful staff at Grace Hospital who saw him through many illnesses and his final days. Prayers and viewing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at Gilbart Funeral Home 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church, Grand Marais (turn west at sign near the firehall). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Cancer Care, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg R3J 3M7. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
