ANDREA JOSEPHINE KLOCHKO (nee CATRYSSE) Silently, a loving heart stops beating, and an incredible journey of love, strength and determination peacefully ends for Andrea with her family at her side at the Gimli Community Health Center on July 26, 2008. Andrea was born the second daughter of Andre and Genowefa Catrysse on August 20, 1952 at Stonewall where she spent her early years. The family relocated to Teulon in 1964. She developed a strong family pride, work ethic and connection with rural life. Andrea met and married her high school sweetheart Eugene and moved to Alberta for five years returning to the family homestead in Malonton where they raised their three children. Her love for the outdoors, pride in her yard, home, and garden were essential to who she was. Andrea's artistic talents included traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs and needlework. Andrea is a cherished and loving mother and grandmother. During her illness, she lived each day to the fullest. She enjoyed being a grandma in simple things. This was evident in whether helping with homework or attending special events. Andrea was always very proud of their children and their achievements. Andrea found her life's calling in her work with Home Care and at Red River Place in Selkirk. She always put others before herself. The friendships she developed with clients and co-workers became very important to her, especially during her illness. In the last year and a half, Andrea was determined to face the challenges put forth in her battle with cancer with strength, determination and dignity. Many thanks to her doctors, Mariane Krahn, her nurse Terese McCormick, Dr. SV Patel, Julie Krumps and the caring staff at Gimli Hospital. Andrea is survived by her children, Kristen (Darrell), Harry (Maren), Gailynn and grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Erika; husband Eugene; her parents, Andre and Genowefa; her sisters, Levica (Walter), June, Christine (Mark), and their families. She is predeceased by her in-laws Mike and Pauline Klochko. Prayers will be held at St. John Vianney Church in Teulon on Tuesday, July 29 at 7:00 p.m. with Father Gerald Langevin officiating. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Teulon Rockwood Centennial Centre with Father Dado officiating. Interment at Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liliane Baron South Interlake Breast Cancer Support Group, Box 10, Teulon. Andrea is truly an angel among us, an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements
