KARIN (KAY) WEST December 4, 1926 July 27, 2008 Karin left to be with the Lord on July 27, 2008 at the Grace Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Peter and her mother and father Ragnhrid and Edward Strate; sister Gudrun (Kai) of Denmark, Lina (Arthur), Ruth (Wilf) and nephew Henning. She also leaves to mourn her beloved companion Ed. Karin is survived by Winnie, Ivor and daughters Ina, Eva Marie and Iben as well as special friends Eileen and Renetta. Karin was born in Denmark and immigrated with her parents to Ross, Manitoba where she spent her childhood years then moved to Winnipeg where she worked as a medical secretary in Fort Garry and Medical Arts. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First English Lutheran Church or the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
