They spent many a day working side by side in Lockport where John owned the A W, where they were well known and well regarded members of the local community. John was a gentle soul and easy guy to get along with. He greatly admired his special friends Bobby and Neil. He maintained friendships with his ADAX buddies over the past 60 plus years and looked forward to their annual Las Vegas trip. Looking forward to seeing his Gimli boat friends at the dock, and time spent in Florida helped make the long winters shorter. John also enjoyed warm relationships with the people that worked with both him and Hazel in the restaurant business and was a decent and kind man to work for. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the St. Boniface hospital emergency and Intensive Care units for their kind and respectful care. Should friends wish to remember John, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are requested in lieu of flowers. Johnny, you left us too soon, we will miss your silver hair and golden smile.

It is with deep regret hearing of John's passing! He will be remembered as a good friend and colleague in the A&W business. John's special sense of humour and infectious smile will long be retained in our memories. We spent many good times at A&W conventions and regional meetings, also doing a little "partying" on the side! Our deepest condolences go out to Hazel and family. God Bless! - Posted by: Barry & Maggie Atkins (Friend) on: Aug 06, 2008
