LORNE ALBERT PESCITELLI July 28, 1925 July 29, 2008 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Lorne Pescitelli, at the age of 83 years. Lorne leaves to cherish his memory, daughters, Cathy (Ken) Hanz, Sharon (Neil) Kaus, Chrissy (Rocky) Baronins and Lisa (Ron) Sheppard; grandchildren, Carla (Paul) Bennett, Jeff Hanz, Caitlin and Alex Baronins and Wellington Sheppard; great-granddaughters, Emma and Abby Bennett; and brothers, William, Charlie and George Pescitelli. Lorne will be sadly missed by countless family and friends, especially his dear friend, Dorothy. He was predeceased by his wife, Anita, parents, John and Rosa, stepmother, Anna, sisters, Mary, Margaret, Alice, Carrie and Teresa; brothers, Mike, Tony, John, Henry and Fred. Dad was born on the family farm in Beausejour, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg in his late teens. He met his wife, Anita, and together they resided in Transcona where they raised their family. Dad was a hard worker but always made time to spend with us on fishing and camping vacations, the Whiteshell being his favorite destination. Dad was active in his retirement years and loved to socialize while traveling, fishing, bowling, curling, playing cards and darts. A great challenge for dad was the constant pursuit of Winnipeg restaurants for the best food for a good deal . Dad's greatest pleasure and what he was the most proud of were his children, grandchildren and great-grand-children. Dad loved to talk and share his stories of which he had many. He was a man with a big heart, gifted with a sense of humor, compassion and a willingness to lend a helping hand. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the Palliative Care Team for their help and support this past month. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster Street, Transcona. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation Inc., 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. DESJARDINS 233-4949 1-888-233-4949
