Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARL TENNYSON FETHERS Peacefully on July 29, 2008, Earl Fethers passed away at the age of 89 at the Deer Lodge Center. Earl was predeceased by his wife Vida, his mother, father, and sister Elsie Olson. His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Kathy (John) of Moncton, New Brunswick, Jim (Angela) of Plymouth, Minnesota, his two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three nieces, Barbara Mushaluk (Jim), Eileen Olson, Marilyn Olson and two nephews, Peter Olson and Warren Olson. Earl was born December 29, 1918 in White Beech, SK to George and Alice Fethers, later moving to Sandridge, MB, where he grew up. He enlisted in the RCAF in August 1940, where he served as an air frame mechanic in Canada and the UK. Earl was married to Vida McKay in 1948, and settled in Charleswood. He worked for over 30 years with the Federal Department of Weights and Measures retiring in 1979. Earl was active in volunteering for Meals on Wheels, the Western Canadian Aviation Museum, as well as with St. Mary's Anglican Church, where he was a member for over 50 years. As a longtime resident of Charleswood, Earl was a life member of the Charleswood Legion Branch 100 as well as a member of the Charleswood Historical Society. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses of the Special Care Unit Tower 3, Deer Lodge Center for the excellent care given to him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Boulevard. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Parkinson Society Manitoba at 302-171 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 1M4, or St. Mary's Anglican Church at 3830 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB R3R 0E4.
