JEANETTE MARIE (LEDUC) PRUDEN August 26, 1926 - July 30, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving mother, sister and grandmother, Jeanette Marie Pruden, on July 30, 2008, at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, ON. Jeanette was born in Chicoutimi, PQ, to Bernadette Paquet and Ralph Chartrand. A good part of her professional career was spent at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg where she was respected and admired for her dedication, standard of excellence, and compassion. Colleagues became close friends cherished to the end, even after her move to Kenora upon retirement in order to be closer to her family. Her love of reading, history and travel were the catalyst for her many trips to different locations around the world, and the foundation for her vast knowledge and intelligence. Her retirement years were enjoyed with family and friends, and most found it difficult to best her in a game of scrabble, cards or the toughest crosswords. Jeanette was an inspiration to all who knew her, and her positive attitude was an influence to many. An amazing woman with a quick wit, sense of humor and passion for life, there was little that could get her down. Even after health problems limited her mobility, she looked upon it as simply a challenge to find new ways to live the quality of life she had always enjoyed. Style, class and elegance described Jeanette who loved to entertain and spend quality time with family and friends. She was proud of her family, generous to a fault and the strength behind us all. Jeanette leaves to mourn her brother Ralph Chartrand of Winnipeg, MB; daughter Shelley (Mike Zagrodney) of Kenora, ON; sons Glen (Carole) Pruden of Morrisburg, ON; Gary (Carol) Leduc and Wayne (Shaughn) Leduc of Kenora, ON; and Dean (Grazyna) Leduc of Medicine Hat, AB. She took great pride in her nine grandchildren: Jamie, Mark and Michael Pruden, Derek, Hilary and Kimberly Leduc, Cameron and Ryan Leduc and Angela Shura. Jeanette will also be sadly missed by a countless number of friends near and far. A Funeral Service in Jeanette's memory will be held Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Cremation Centre. A reception will follow the service.
