RUTH LAMOUREUX (CLINE)

RUTH LAMOUREUX (nee CLINE) With great sadness the family announces the passing of Ruth Lamoureux on July 25, 2008 at Seven Oaks Hospital at 81 years of age. Ruth will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her children Ron (Michaela), Kip Lyon (Lani Andrews), Deborah Kline (Roman Matwijejko), Jeff (Susan), Ted (Heather), sisters Georgina (Chi) Montgomery and Joyce Owens as well as seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Albertine Cline and her brother Ronald Cline. In her younger days, Ruth was well known for her athletic abilities in baseball and figure skating. She was an exceptionally hard worker and made her living by running a rooming house, baking and selling bread, taking in youth from children's aid, and eventually running a boarding house for all ages. At an age when most people choose to retire, Ruth decided to become licensed to take in developmentally handicapped adults. Ruth was also known for her great love of animals and many a stray animal or injured bird found refuge in her home. The family would like to honour her love of animals, especially her pets, Lady, Scamp and Pidge, by requesting that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to support Darcy's Arc Animal Rescue Shelter. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to both Gerry and Chris for their loving support of Ruth over the years. Thank you as well to the doctors and nurses and Seven Oaks Hospital staff for their care and compassion. Following Ruth's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering was held.
