Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED B. DIXON (DOBBIN) Here's to Bumpa, he's got class ... On July 30, 2008, Fred B. Dixon (Dobbin) our beloved husband, father, Bumpa passed away. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Norma, his children Barry (Pat), Debbie, Wendy (Terry) and Fred (Barbara), ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will ever mourn his passing. Born in 1924 in West Kildonan, Dad proudly served in the Navy aboard HMSC LaSalle, after which he began a successful career in sales, culminating in the establishment of Liberty Insurance Agency. In 1964, Dad moved the family to West St. Paul, unheard of in those days, where he enjoyed puttering endlessly and spent many hours tending his garden and landscaping. The family spent many wild and crazy times at cottages, in Grand Beach and Jessica Lake. He provided so much fun and fond memories for all of us, giving us timeless endless stories. Dad retired early to enjoy travelling and fun times with our ever-expanding family. Dad was a proud member of Lord Selkirk Masonic Lodge, Canadian Legion Branch #30, and in healthier days, the Khartum Fife and Drum. Thank you for everything Dad. We will always miss you and remember you. The family extends our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding staff at Concordia Hospital, 3N for their professionalism, compassion and concern extended to dad and his family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Home, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg. Happy to meet; Sorry to part, Happy to meet again.
