Bill is survived by his loving wife, Estelle; his children, Marc (Donna), Danny (Jennifer) and Maureen; grandchildren, Erin, Mara, Saydie, Spencer, Jack and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Sarah and Max; brothers, Irving and Morris and sisters, Mina and Ruth. Bill was born in Winnipeg in 1918. He served his country in the Canadian forces with The Winnipeg Light Infantry from 1942 to 1944. He trained as a member of the First Canadian Paratroop battalion in Fort Benning, Georgia. After the service Bill joined the family business, Crescent Fruit. He worked as a fruit and vegetable wholesaler until his retirement at the age of 75. At the age of 45 Bill gave up the bachelor life to marry his Sugar. Through the years Bill shared his love of life with his family through his passion for boating and many fabulous family vacations. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at The Health Sciences Centre for their kind and respectful care. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Congregation Etz Chayim. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Jewish Foundation of Manitoba or the charity of one's choice.
