ELSIE WHITEHEAD (nee BUTLAND) On July 29, 2008 with resolve and peace, Elsie at the age of 82, passed away. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years Charlie; daughter Brenda (Don) and precious grandchildren, Jeff (Trish), Marissa and Curtis. Elsie's great-grandchildren, Kendra, Drew and Dylan will miss Great Nana and remember her with joy and love, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Elizabeth Butland, her sister Beatrice, brother George and son-in-law Richard. Elsie was a lifelong resident of Oakbank, and spent more than 30 years working for the RM of Springfield. After her retirement, she and Charlie traveled to the US where they made many friends at their winter home in Mesa, Arizona. An avid golfer, Elsie was an active member at Elmhurst Golf and Country Club, along with many years at Dugald Curling Club. Elsie's outgoing and friendly spirit will be truly missed, but lovingly remembered by her many friends from over the years from the community, her work, and her travels. Thanks to the nurses and home care staff from Kin Place along with the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Also, we would like to give special thanks to Elsie's niece Bev, for her tremendous support and love, it is appreciated more than she will ever know. At Elsie's request, cremation and a private family service have already taken place at Green Acres. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, a donation can be made in Elsie's memory to a charity of one's choice. Our loved ones leave this world, but never leave our hearts.
