RUBY ANDERSON Ruby Anderson, formerly of Winnipeg, passed away in Kelowna on July 20, 2008, at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Alex (Sandy) in September 2006, brothers Lloyd and Howard, and sister Lilly. Her memory will be cherished by her children: Jeannie (Don Bates) of Winnipeg, Andy (Helen) of Saskatoon, Ken (Libby) of Haines Junction and Janice (Dempsey Callison) of Smithers. She is also survived by her sister Agnes, grandchildren Lisa Mingo, Christine Adamson, Glenn, Guy, Adam and Damon Anderson, Stacey, Robyn and Chad Day and eight great-grandchildren. Ruby was born in Overland, SK. She and Sandy lived in Radville, SK, until 1959, when they moved to Winnipeg for Sandy to assume a position with MAST. They enjoyed many winters holidaying in Mission, Texas. In 1992 they retired in Kelowna, where they reunited with many Saskatchewan friends. Ruby was an avid golfer, bridge player and enjoyed organizing social events. The family would like to thank her dear friends for their care and support, especially during her time of illness. We celebrated her life with informal gatherings in Kelowna. In accordance with her wishes, there was no formal service. Interment will be in Radville, SK, where she will rest next to her best friend, husband Sandy. If friends so desire, a donation to Fanconi Canada, P.O. Box 38157, Castlewood Postal Outlet, Toronto, ON M5N 3A9, in honour of one year old great-grandson Dylan Ritchie, would be much appreciated.
