Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MARY CURRAN (nee SPOONER) April 23, 1911 - August 1, 2008 On August 1, 2008 our beloved Mother passed away at home surrounded by her family. Mom was born in Winnipeg, the daughter of Ella Meehan and Thomas Spooner. She was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Thomas, Margaret, Edwin, Helen, Kathleen and Audrey. She is survived by her sister, Doris Sponarski of Portage la Prairie. Mom attended St. Ignatius School, St. Mary's Academy and graduated from the St. Boniface School of Nursing in 1936. In 1940 Mom married our dad, Philip John Curran (dec. 1985) and we three daughters were born, Judith (Bob Wolfenden) of Maitland, ON, Janet (Dr. Allan Downs) of Winnipeg, and Kathleen Coles of Vancouver. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. Funeral prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the St. John Brebeuf Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Brebeuf on Wednesday, August 6 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
