BLANCHE ANASTASIA HUNT (nee BRENNICK) Peacefully, in her sleep on Saturday, August 2, 2008, our beloved mother and grandmother, Blanche, passed away at the age of 87 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters and their families, Shelley/Michelle (Marc) Alarie, Michael (Irene, Talia and Kaylie), Martin, and Marcel (Kristi Dubuc); Barbara (Dave) Maksymic and Gordon Unger; Terry Plett (Chris Mellway) and Tracy (Jeff Funk), (Aaron and Ashley), Deanne, Robin (Steve Vande Vyvere), Kevin (Shauna), Vicki and April Plett. Also left to mourn are her sisters, Helen Devison and Add (Jerome) MacDonald, sister-in-law Anne Brennick, as well as numerous nieces and nephews from down east. Blanche was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in 1921 and moved to Transcona after her marriage to Harold. She worked at Eaton's for 15 years and then the Grain Commission for a short while. She had exceptional cooking skills, a love of poetry, creative writing and drawing that provided much enjoyment and beauty. Her pride in her eastern Canadian roots often emerged in stories, jokes and family tales that warmed us all. The family would like to thank her friend Helen; Barb and all the staff at the Park Manor Personal Care Home in Transcona for their kindness, attention and support for Mom. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations may be made in her name to the Canadian Arthritis Society. I think that I shall never see A poem as lovely as a tree. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
