Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUISE BATER Louise Bater meant so much too so many people, that it is hard to capture her life in a few words. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on June 8, 1949 to Charlie and Margaret Bater, Louise was the middle of three siblings, Don and Bonnie (Pat), remained close to her throughout her life. Elsa Bater joined her immediate family early on in life and has been a great influence and friend throughout. Louise's children, Jason (Michelle) Kerri, Rick (Kirsty) and Cindy. Her grandchildren, Brandon, Jonathan, Marky, Cordelia and a new grandchild due in November. Niece and nephew Jen and Jamie. She will be particularly missed by the man whose life she rescued, her loving partner for life, Chris. Friends, family and colleagues will surely remember Louise with laughter and great stories after all, not many women love both hockey and opera. Her love of all living creatures was known to everyone especially her pets, Minnie and Lakota. Louise lived her life full to the brim right to July 31, 2008 when she slipped quietly into her next life. A family and friends celebration of Louise's life will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 3:00 p.m. at Leyden's Funeral Home, 17th Avenue and 2nd Street SW, Calgary, AB, reception to follow at the same address. A family memorial will be held on Sunday, August 10th at 1:00 p.m. at Jason's in Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to be made in Louise's name to the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Winnipeg or Calgary Humane Society.
