Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJORGEN (JOHN) JACOBSEN Jorgen (John) Jacobsen passed away August 3, 2008 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Assiniboine Centre, following a lengthy battle with cancer. John was born on August 16, 1924 in Denmark. He immigrated to Canada in 1955, settling in Winnipeg where he met and married his wife Agnes. They moved to Brandon in 2002 and currently resided at Hobbs Manor. John is survived by his loving wife Agnes; his three stepchildren, Karen (Don Butler) of Brandon, Pat of Vernon, BC, Gordie (Ann) of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Kristi Josephson of Vancouver, BC, Michael Josephson of San Francisco, CA and Joby Bond of Toronto, ON and two great-grandchildren, Hakan Williams and Julia Bond. Also surviving are sister Asa Ravn and brother Viggo Jacobsen of Denmark and brother-in-law Cliff Elmwood of Winnipeg. A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, Brandon on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Evert Busink officiating. Cremation has taken place and interment will be in Winnipeg at a later date. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. S. Engelbrecht for his care and concern throughout John's illness, the compassionate Palliative Care staff and the home care team that took such good care of him before his last hospital stay.
