KATHERINA (TINA) GOERTZEN Katherina (Tina) Goertzen of Morris, MB, formerly of Donwood Manor, Winnipeg, passed away at her residence, Red River Valley Lodge in Morris, Monday, August 4, 2008. Katherina (Tina) was born March 3, 1913 at Hochstadt, MB, the first daughter of Peter and Katherina Falk. The family moved to Gnadenfeld when Tina was two years old where she grew up and attended school. Tina accepted Christ when she was 16 years old. She married Jake Goertzen August 4, 1932 and lived in Gnadenfeld until 1951 when they moved to Morris. Tina is survived by Ruben (Ruth), Tina (Ray), John (Helen), Ruth (Harry), Jim (Pat), Ron (Judy), Josie (Jim) and special son-in-law Henry (Vera). Tina is survived by 22 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Tina was widowed in 1969. She was also predeceased by son Brian (age 10) in 1962; daughter Helen (Loewen) in 1984. Tina loved gardening and quilting and served her Lord in her local church teaching Sunday School and by sending Bibles to Africa. In 1981 Tina moved to Donwood Manor in Winnipeg when she was no longer able to look after her house and garden. In 1998 Tina moved back to Morris where she lived until the time of her passing. Funeral will be Saturday, August 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship, Morris, formerly Morris Mennonite church on Ottawa Street at Lucinda, viewing from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Bible Society. Absent from the Body, present with the Lord.
