Mike is predeceased by his parents Edward and Catherine Courchene, brothers Gilbert, Brian and Eric, sister Tootsie and nephew Chris Neil. Mike is survived by his wife Bernice and children, Dwayne (Elaine), Tanya (Audi), and Ariel, grandchildren Malik, Mikey, Kennide, Sebastian, Dwaine and Cody, siblings Norman (Linda), Neil (Darlene), Vince (Doreen), Sam (Wanda), Paul, Walace, Richard (Mabel), Ephrem (Josephine), Norma (Henry), Mary (Wilfred), Lila, Lorna, Isabel, Lena and Marge (Henry). He leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. Born in Pine Falls, MB, he made a career as a truck driver, then became an accomplished carpenter. Many families have come to know his work, beautiful cabinets, houses, and his dream log home. His other hobbies were playing golf, remaining a horseshoe champion. Wake services will be held at his residence, Fort Alexander F.N. House, 552A, North Shore Rd. Funeral service will be held at St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church.Viewing 1:30 to 2:00 p.m., August 11, 2008. Active pallbearers: Joey Bird, Ronnie Fontaine, Phillip Star, Paul Buggers Courchene, Mike Gummy Courchene, Rod Bunn Jr. Honourary pallbearers: Kevin, Joseph, Paul, Sam, Neil, Vince Courchene.
