MYRTLE WOOLLARD Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away at 95 years of age on Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Richmond, BC. Left to mourn are daughters Joan Stevenson (Kris Anderson), Bernice (Ed Baranet), grandchildren Kerry Stevenson (Catherine Kloepfer), Susan (Matthew Wilton), Traci (Justin Baillie), Ross Baranet (Paula Taddeo). She is also survived by great-grandchildren Eric and Miranda Stevenson, Ewan Wilton and Alexandre and Daniella Baillie, as well as siblings June Selinger, Connie Wright, Jack Pruden, Ken Pruden, Ralph Pruden and George Pruden, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband Harry Woollard in 1972 and brother Lloyd Pruden, and posthumously by brother Vern Pruden. Born in Winnipeg, she was a longtime North End YMCA and CNIB volunteer, knitted hundreds of childrens' mittens for charity every year, and helped with the yearly UNICEF Halloween drive for decades. Mom loved to travel, golf, bowl, carpet bowl, swim, garden, attend Jets hockey games, play cards and visit with friends and family. She spent many vacations with family in Hawaii, Mexico, England, the Caribbean and the United States. At 92, she decided to give up driving, but never gave up her exercise, walking in Kitsilano, and then in the gardens at Fraserview Care Home. Mom's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were a never-ending source of joy to her, and they in return, adored her. A kind and gentle woman, Mom had a smile for all and believed in tolerance and patience in everything. An amazing woman, she will be missed by all who knew her. Ashes will be interred in Brookside Cemetery, Winnipeg on Saturday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. in section 26. Following the interment all friends and family are invited to attend a 12:00 p.m. gathering at the Hilton Hotel, 1800 Wellington Avenue at Route 90, near Brookside Cemetery.
