Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRAD UNRAU Brad Unrau passed away on August 6, 2008 at the Grace Hospital at age 32 years. He was born on April 2, 1976 to Paul B. and Mary Unrau. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith in Jesus, in May 1994 in Springstein Mennonite Church. He worked in a few call centres; most recently at Readers' Sales and Services at Canwest Global. He married Juanita Poetker on December 15, 2000. They met through Fort Garry Mennonite Brethren Church, but transferred to Ness Avenue Baptist Church in 2005, following a move across Winnipeg. Both enjoyed the closer-to-home community and Brad filled a need in the video ministry there, until his declining health made that impossible. After many months of struggling with tests, he was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease and fought it courageously to the last day. He is survived by his wife Juanita; mother Mary Unrau; sister Kim(Kyle) Peters and their children Graham, Davis and Erin; brother Rob (Pam) and their children Zachary, Jared Taya and Keagan; parents-in-law Alf and Linda Poetker; and Juanita's siblings Jeremy (Aurora), Mandi (Nathan), and Nathaniel. Also missing him is their dog Rufus. Brad was predeceased by his father Paul in 2007. Thank you to Dr. Pat Harris and the staff at the Grace Hospital Oncology department for their loving care towards Brad and the family. Viewing will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 from 7:00 8:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street and at the church prior to the service. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Ness Avenue Baptist Church, 2700 Ness Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment to follow in Springstein Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, ON 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9 or to Compassion Canada at www.compassion.ca
