OLLIE (OLGA) JONES (PROCEVIAT) Ollie (Olga) Jones (Proceviat) of Warren, MB. beloved wife of the late Harold Jones. She died July 29, 2008 at the Stonewall Hospital. Ollie was born in Elma, MB. August 14, 1922 where her parents, Synka and John Proceviat farmed. Besides Harold she was predeceased by her parents, and sisters Jennie Janik, Mary Chiupka and brother Steve Proceviat. Surviving to mourn her loss is brother Pete Proceviat of Ajax, Ontario and Aunt Pearl Carlson of Thunder Bay. Nieces Adeline Harrison (Ralph) of Peterbourgh, Ontario, Lillian Currie, Sharon Chiupka, Sandra Varey and nephew Bryan Chiupka all of Thunder Bay, also numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great- nephews. Ollie was also stepmom to Gavin and Suszanne Jones of Warren, Donna, Sheilla (Jim), Terry, Rae (Patrick), Jim Claire, Patricia (Dan), all of Winnipeg. Son-in-law Pete Guenther of Warren and former daughter in law Erica Jones of Warren, also eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Ollie loved Dad (Harold) and was broken hearted after his passing. After leaving home at an early age she worked as an employee for CP Rail and lived in Winnipeg where she met Dad who played the accordion at various Legions. They married in November 1981 and had a home built across the road from the family farm, where they both lived until their passing. Ollie began working for home care in the Warren area and made many friends with her clients of whom she spoke fondly. She did home care up to the last three years when she could no longer work due to illness. Family gatherings called for good food and whoever else could make the best perogies and cabbage rolls except for Ollie along with the good old borscht. Don't forget the garden goodies. The grandchildren from across the road could often be found visiting grandma and grandpa. Sunday evenings Ollie was always waiting for her faithful nieces Lillian and Adeline to give her a call and let her know all the family news from down east. She allowed nothing to interfere with that time. Thursday was get your hair done and George Medwid was the man for the job and no one else would do. Thank you George. The late Sis Procter was one of Ollie's friends and they shared many good times. We wish to thank the ladies who drove Ollie to some of her appointments; Carol Hardie, Jean Marshall, Barb Riddell and Darleen Hoffman. We also want to thank Dr. Pinniger, the nurses and staff, for their caring compassion and encouraging words through this difficult time. Ollie requested to be cremated and to have no funeral service. That request was fulfilled by a great-nephew who came into her life and befriended her in her last days. The family would like to say thank you to any and all who encouraged and lifted up Ollie during her life. In memory of Ollie's life, friends may donate to the Southwest District Palliative Care, Inc. P.O. Box 1282, Stonewall, Manitoba, R0C 2Z0. Ph. 1-204-467-7118.
