MRS. RAY JEFFRIES Peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at the Sharon Home, Ray Jeffries passed away at the age of 96. Survived by her son Ken; daughter-in-law Carole; grandchildren, Mark and Paula; and great-grandchildren, Kayla, Christopher and Corey. Ray was predeceased by her husband Philip and son Wilfred. Ray was born in Russia in 1911 and after being orphaned, travelled to Canada by herself in 1922 to live with relatives. Ray and Phil married in 1933, raised their family, and worked side by side in the family business, Central Dental Supply Co. After Phil's death in 1989, she continued to work with her two sons until five years ago. She also belonged to the Harmony Chapter of Eastern Star, attaining the position of Worthy Matron. Burial service was at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on Monday, August 4, 2008. Special thanks to the staff on the 2nd floor of the Sharon Home, Kanee Centre, for their compassionate care during her two years there.
