IRENE MONIZ MEDEIROS October 9, 1929 August 9, 2008 Peacefully on Saturday our precious mother and grandmother passed away at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78. Irene was predeceased by her husband Dinis. Irene will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughter Ana; sons, Emanuel (with cerebral palsy) and Walter, daughter-in-law Margaret and grandchildren, Matthew and Kaitlyn; brother Luis (Louisa) in Mississauga, ON; brother Jose (Theresa) in Bristol, RI, USA; sister Irm. Filomena in Lisbon, Portugal, Encarnacao (Jose) in Sao Miguel, Acores; sister Maria de Jesus (Manuel) in Sao Miguel, Acores; sister Irm. Olinda in Sao Miguel, Acores and brother Jacinto (Fatima) in Winnipeg and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Irene was born in Sao Miguel, Acores on October 9, 1929. She began working at very young age to help support her family. Later she married and moved to Winnipeg to start a new life in February 1963. Irene was a talented homemaker and devoted wife and mother of three precious children. Irene was devoted to God and attended church regularly for as long as her health allowed her. Her home was full of love and she always made sure that family and friends that came to visit were loved and always plenty to eat. She spent her final days in peace. She will always be remembered for her kindness and Love. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses and all support staff at St. Boniface Hospital for treating our mother with complete dignity until the very end. A very special thank you to Fathers Gary Killen and Father Roland for their support, prayers and comforting words during our difficult time. As well a very special thank you to our family and friends from all over the world for their love and support. Irene fulfilled her mission in life to her family and to God until the very end. She will forever be loved and remembered in our hearts. Prayers will be said at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 13 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Very Rev.
