Louis will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his devoted wife Anne of 53 years; daughters Sharon Desorcy, Bonnie (Denis) Marcoux, Connie (Allan) Kaufmann; grandchildren Kara and Cody Desorcy and Abbra and Sarah Kaufmann; sisters-in-law Fran, Vera and Shirley, Jolana (Jerry), Lydia, Mary, Josie, Jennie; brother-in-law Joe (Audrey); numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Louis was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Alzbeta; brothers Rudy, Michel, Joe, Steve, Emil, Earl; sisters Mary, Anne, Agata and Betty; in-laws Anthony and Josephine; son-in-law Guy; nephew Tony; sister-in-law Anne; brothers-in-law Al, Arnie, and Wayne. Louis was born in Ockov, Slovakia and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1938. In 1954, Louis married the love of his life Anne Krizak. They settled on the family farm where they lovingly raised their three daughters. Louis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, however Grandpa's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. In his early years Dad was an avid big game hunter, played baseball and was an excellent self-taught welder, as recognized by all who came to the farm for his expertise with any fix-it job. Dad loved camping so much that he built his own camper to travel with his family. As well as farming, Dad worked at Trailmobile for 30 years, retiring from his job as shop foreman in 1989. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 13, 2008 by Father Armand LeGal, at Notre Dame de Lorette in Lorette, MB. Viewing will take place at 9:45 a.m. A special thank you to all the caring and compassionate homecare staff and volunteers that cared for Dad over the years. As well we thank the caring doctors and staff at St. Anne Clinic and Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Gobeil for over 40 years of care. If friends so desire, a memorial contribution may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
