CHARLES HACHEY On Monday, August 11, 2008 Charles Theophile Hachey, middle son of Denise (Thouin) and J. Leo Hachey, passed away at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Charlie was born May 5, 1953 in Bathurst, New Brunswick. He had a joyous childhood growing up on the magical north shore of New Brunswick. Charlie met and married Valerie (nee Mark) in 1982 and in due time they welcomed daughter Sarah into their lives. Soon after, they moved to Winnipeg. Charlie was a gifted musician and avid motor cycle rider. Always happiest when playing bass guitar, boating, exploring new trails and communing with nature; he asked for little beyond life's simple pleasures. He brought many hours of enjoyment to others through his music. Those who knew Charles admired his talent, basked in his humour and appreciated his generosity of heart. He left us too soon. We will miss him dearly. Charles is survived by wife Valerie, daughter Sarah, brothers Philippe and Jean-Paul, sister-in-law Carm, many nieces, nephews and extended family . Funeral services will be held Friday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Donations may be made in Charles' name to the Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or World Vision Christian Children's Fund of Canada, 1027 McNicoll, Scarborough, Ontario M1W 3X2. Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • There's many days and nights that go by where I think about my uncle Charlie. I miss him very much. My whole family misses my uncle Charlie. I'll never forget where some of my silly sense of humor comes from. I think everyone has picked up some of that over the years. I'm glad I came across your page tonight. It makes me happy to know you're up there with grandmama. - Posted by: Nicolas Hachey (Nephew) on: Feb 02, 2015

  • Charlie Hachey was my uncle ... I just called him " Uncle Charlie ". This is the first time I saw his obituary, but I often think about him.. He was a great guy and he died way too soon from something terrible that I would not wish on anyone. Uncle Charlie was a great musician (Bass player) mainly. He encouraged me and was delighted to see I played bass guitar too when I was younger, and he even helped me learn to play drums. His favorite Bass he owned was an amazing Vintage Fender P Bass that was black in color. His favorite music and what was known for was playing IRISH folk music. Something I also picked up in life and play to this day! There is nobody else to thank but my Uncle Charlie for that. He is greatly missed by his family. I hope you're doing good up there Uncle Charlie. Playing the wild rover on your favorite bass guitar - Nephew, JP - Posted by: J.HACHEY (NEPHEW) on: Mar 14, 2012
