SANFORD ROLLINGS CARTER 1914 - 2008 Peacefully in his sleep Sandy passed away on Tuesday morning. He was 94 years young. He will be sadly missed by his grandson Michael (Rhonda) Carter, granddaughter Karen (Andre) Trudel, great-grandsons Brendan Carter, Lance and Carter Trudel, daughter-in-law Joyce Lennox, two nephews David (Bev) Senik, Dennis (Ann) Senik, niece Diane (Jim) Whitmarsh and their families. He was predeceased by his mother and father Pearl and Rollins Carter, son Lawrence, brother Earl. Sandy was born and raised in St. James, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1936 and retired in 1961. He moved to Montreal where he worked for a short time with CAE and then The Lummus Co. He joined CGE in 1968 and retired in 1975 and moved to Chemainus, BC. They were homesick for the East and moved back to Peterborough, ON in 1979 where he lived until his wife passed away in 2001. He then moved to the Westhaven Retirement Residence in Winnipeg and spent many happy years. He spent his last days in the care of the Poseidon Care Centre. We would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Poseidon Care Centre for their patience and dedication and care during his stay.
