Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWARD STEFANIUK July 24, 1948 August 14, 2008 Peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2008 Ed passed away at his home at the age of 60 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elma (Ellie), his children Francine, Corinne (Tony), Kim (Garry), Denise (Lance), Ed (Pamela); along with his grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Ryan, Cole, Daniel, Kristen, Kallie, Matthew, Erica, Dylan and Chloe. He also leaves to mourn his two sisters, Fran from British Columbia and Shirley from Ontario. Ed was predeceased by his parents Steve and Victoria, his brother Ricky and his grandson Kyle. All his family and friends will miss Ed's wonderful sense of humour. Ed loved to tell stories and would always have a room full of people laughing. He was fun, caring and very outgoing and always had a hug ready for everyone. Ed enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved reading, hunting, the outdoors and his greatest passion was enjoying the solitude of his 120 acres in Brokenhead, MB with his wife Ellie where they moved to in 1986. Ed was born in Winnipeg and worked at Winnipeg Transit for almost 30 years where he retired from in 2004. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Nick VanRensburg for his special care and true compassion. His friendship and support was invaluable. Also, thank you to Cheryl Smith, Joan and Carol, the palliative care nurses for their wonderful care. A special thank you to Ellie's sister Jeannie for her love, dedication and support during Ed's last few days. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB. A private family interment will take place following the service. Donations are kindly accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. Ed, to my best friend, I will love you forever and miss you until we meet again.
