ALICE MAY RIDGEWAY Peacefully at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall on August 13, 2008 at the age of 95 years, May passed away. May was born in the family home at Grosse Isle in 1913. She spent much of her life on the home farm taking care of family and getting enjoyment in tending to the flower beds and vegetable gardens. She was the organist for St. Michael's Anglican Church, a member of the Grosse Isle Women's Auxiliary, and a volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross. May was predeceased by her parents John and Evalina, her brother Weston and sister-in-law Bettie, all of Grosse Isle. She is survived by her nephew Wes Ridgeway (Donna) and two great-nephews Nelson and Joel. Cremation has taken place, interment was held at St. Michael's Anglican Church on Friday, August, 15, 2008. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Park Lodge in Woodlands and Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall for the kindness and care they showed May during her time there. In May's memory, donations towards the restoration of the Ridgeway Heritage House', may be forwarded to Jim Harris, Box 46 Grosse Isle. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements
