MARIE ANTOINETTE MARCUS MACKLE (nee ANDERSON) Marie was born in St. Boniface on September 21, 1910. She passed away on August 6, 2008 at the age of 97 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Wilfred Paul Mackle, her step-son Joseph Mackle, her parents Evelyne Margurite Roberts and William Henry Anderson, her twin sister Angele Marguerite Alicia and her aunt Marcelle Louise Roberts/Anderson. Surviving are her sisters Gabrielle Bieber (Andrew deceased), Evelyne Anderson Lamont (John) and brothers Jeffrey (Adele), David (Ann) and Paul (Iris) and many nephews and nieces. She is also survived by three step-grandsons, Patrick, John and Jeffrey Mackle of British Columbia. She attended Alexander and Kelvin High schools. Music was always a part of her childhood and continued into adulthood as a pianist and choir member in River Heights United Church of Winnipeg under her father W.H. Anderson and G Clef choir of Kenora under Gladys Whitehead. She was also a gifted artist like her twin sister Angele. She married Wilfred Paul Mackle, a mining engineer of Toronto in 1944. They had a long and happy marriage of 33 years with homes at Red Lake and Kenora, Ontario. Later, as a widow, she moved back to Winnipeg to be with her extended family. During this time she did volunteer work with the Misericordia Hospital Guild and currently resided at Misericordia Place. Because of the loss of their mother Marcelle at a young age, Marie and her sisters Angele and Gabrielle offered emotional support to the younger family when needed. We have many fond memories and hope that she now has the peace and comfort she needs.
